New Ike in the works!
It's been a little while, but a new episode of "Ike Mcloud: Smartest Man in the Universe" is on it's way. Trouble with Ike is, I have about 6000 notecards and folded pages of script/storyboard on my desk and I can never choose which to finalize. Because I want to animate his stories, I get all freaked out about letting too much story go, or not being chronological enough for the reader.

"Cats" for New Times

A lot of people got really mad about this! A group of cat lovers out there, unprepared for bone-cat emailed me in hatred of this week's "Welcome..." for making light of the mutated strays, walking all over the area. To them, I am sympathetic...But what they have failed to realize (in a sort of Mrs. Broflovski kind of way) is that this comic got a lot of people talking about this issue. THAT was the purpose of this comic and I must say, mission accomplished!
--Animation IS happening. Ike Mcloud comics are on their way and Ike has actually been the subject of a few animation demo's in the last few weeks. Will post more on the topic soon.
More to come!

A true Tale of Evil!

New logo up, for some reason it sucks to look at on a mobile. Blogger is being super buggy lately and I am again considering a move to Tumblr or just moving on to a website. We'll see what happens. On that note, ALL of my technology is failing me today. Safari is lagging horribly, Photoshop has suddenly given me a "due date", my scanner has rebelled and is shooting heroin again...Its a mess.
Nice little chunk of news I can't FULLY post about regarding this week's New Times comic until midnight tonight(ish).. However, a funny meme came out of all the buzz circulating around the grotesque nature of this week's "Welcome..".
I resisted the urge to respond to animal rights hate mail. All of which was based in a true misunderstanding of WHY this issue for Miami should be seen in comic form. Sometimes it's easier to brush a grotesque aspect of urban life under the rug/into the alley instead of looking at it, letting out a few guilty laughs and asking, "how did it get this bad?". That is the true purpose of the "Welcome to the Future" series, and I am really glad there was some discussion by the public on action based solutions. Shocked me in a good way :)
Alright, new comics coming tonight! Enjoy!

DIRTY MAG article/interview about my comics and the future of SIQ magazine.

A while back Dirty Magazine, who I do most of my one panels/Tale of Evil's for, did this little interview for a spot on their "Dirty Boy/Girl" segment. Dirty features artists from around the globe in this segment and usually shoots them super high-res, getting gross/sweaty or romping around in nature. Lots of forward slashing in this paragraph.. w/e.

Redux of a classic.

--This old one panel was done back when I did comics for B&W in Sarasota and scanned all my images in at 200dpi. Oh how the times have changed. Re-drawing this and setting it to color made me reminisce about the days when drawing on a piece of printer paper or into a sketchbook, then scanning it into my bootlegged PS2 program to never touch it with a bucket of paint was acceptable. Hard to believe it was only a few years back.
To making better comics, week by week. Hopefully I'll look back at these and think "How in the hell did any publication ever take me seriously??!"
Thanks to everyone who visits, and to all who email me about the specifics<3
